Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall -- there's always something to do to prepare for the coming season.

No matter what time of year, it 's not too early to start thinking about your lawn, garden preparation and maintenance strategy for the coming season.

No matter what your needs, Town & Country Landscaping has a program that will fit your needs and budget.

The best way to start is by talking with Town & Country about your lawn and garden needs and getting a free estimate to perform the necessary services.

Our basic service includes mowing, trimming, edging and leaf removal. Mowing will be performed on a seven to ten day cycle, weather permitting, from April through November. All walks, sidewalks, curbs and parking areas will be blown free of cuttings, leaves and debris after each mowing. Trimming around trees, shrubs and other obstacles will be performed with every mowing. All accessible sidewalks and curbs will be edged at the time of each mowing, providing a clean, manicured edge throughout the property. Leaf removal will be performed three times each year -- two times in November and one time in December. The clean up will include the removal of leaves, sticks and other debris from turf and bed areas.

Some of Town & Country Landscaping's extensive services and recommendations include:

Early Spring preparation inculdes cleaning and mulching your ornamental bed areas.

We recommend activities such as applying mulch, fertilizer, limestone, and pre-emergent herbicide to ornamental bed areas. They will go a long way in keeping your beds looking good throughout the summer. Bed preparation should begin with well-defined edges and cleaning of all debris and weeds. After debris and weeds are removed, a pre-emergent herbicide should be applied. Adding this herbicide with your ornamental bed preparation will greatly reduce the time spent weeding beds during the summer. Applying a fertilizer to ornamental shrubs and trees during bed preparation will help promote deeper rooting which increases drought tolerance. One other application that we recommend prior to mulching is the application of limestone to your ornamental bed.

Once these preparations have been completed, the final step is to apply mulch. We recommend hard wood shredded mulch distributed to a total depth of two to three inches. The mulch should be spread evenly throughout your ornamental bed and excess mulch should be pulled back from the base of the plants, forming a small well.

Once summer has come, treat yourself to full lawn maintenance services. We offer a full range of options including mowing, edging, lawn fertilization and weed control. We also offer leaf removal, plant trimming and a plant and ornamental tree care program.

Options you can choose to round out your maintenance program are plant trimming and our plant and ornamental tree care program. All ornamental plants and shrubbery will be trimmed and pruned as needed during the contract period, depending on the type of shrub. Fertilizer will be applied to foundation plants and ornamental trees once a year in March. Insecticide will be applied to foundation plants and ornamental trees twice a year -- in July and August.

Another option available is our lawn fertilization and weed control program. This option offers two plans that best meet your needs. The first plan includes fertilizing the turf areas five times yearly - in March, May, July, October and December. Controlling unwanted weeds is accomplished with pre-emergent weed control, which will be applied to the areas twice a year -- in March and May. Also, eliminating weeds that may come up during summer is accomplished with post-emergent herbicide spray, for selective broadleaf weeds, which will be applied to turf areas three times yearly -- in June, July, and August.

Our second lawn fertilization and weed control plan includes fertilizer which will be applied to turf areas two times a year -- in March and October. Also, pre-emergent weed control will be applied to turf areas three times yearly -- in March, May and October.
