How's that New Year's resolution coming along? You know the one - you said you would finally get into shape? Well, if it hasn't exactly turned out the way you had hoped, now is the time to do something about it . . . permanently!

Nauti Body Fitness Center has the right combination to help you keep your resolution all year long. It's a combination that consists of a highly skilled staff, the right kind of equipment and a no pressure membership that keeps you wanting to come back.

This place truly is different. First of all, there is no "hard sell." Memberships are month-to-month, not those long-term contracts most places lock you into. There's no pressure on you. You decide what you want to do, not some strangers at a gym.

Ted Delmonico, the owner, says this puts the pressure on the staff, where it belongs. "We know you do not have to come back if you are not seeing results or are less than pleased with the service we provide. It is in our best interest to do a good job in order to keep people coming back. We stay with it and stay motivated, and that helps the customers stay with it and stay motivated."

"Another interesting thing," he adds, "is that people actually seem to use the gym a lot more when they are not locked into long-term contracts. It is like they have more personal ownership in their own destinies. They come because they want to, not because they feel they have to."

And the results show! Manager Kevin Beal says, "One member had done poorly on an osteoporosis test. Her doctor wanted her to do weight-bearing exercises, so we worked with her and came up with a program. She came in one time after a doctor's appointment all excited and told us how thrilled her doctor was about the increased bone density that he found. She had gone from severe bone loss to the nearly normal range in eight months."

Another customer, a retired senior citizen, says going to Nauti Body was the best decision he ever made. He laughs and says it even improved his golf game. Another member was happy when her doctor told her that she had lowered her cholesterol level by her workouts on the cardiovascular machines, and yet another lost 40 pounds.

"We are very much a reflection of the community," explains Ted. "We're not the kind of hard-core gym where only the 'beautiful people,' body builders or models hang out. We get everyone - the athletes, but also mom and the grandparents, the business men and women and people from every walk of life."

"We try to keep it on a friendly, neighborhood, yet professional, level," he continues. "Everything we have here is 'gold' quality. The Nauti Body facility is clean, well maintained and features the latest in equipment and programs."

It is little wonder that Nauti Body retains more than 70 percent of its customers over the long haul.

One thing members all seem to agree on is the level of service at Nauti Body. Kevin is certified with the American Council on Exercise and the National Strength and Conditioning Association and is working on his degree at George Mason University in exercise science and health

promotion. Personal trainer Cindy Pavell already has a Masters in Exercise Science and is certified through the American College of Sports Medicine, while Rolando Perez, the assistant manager and others round out the team with years of experience and American Council of Exercise Certification.

Owner Ted Delmonico and his wife Lisa, who is vice president and promotion director, also have a vast amount of expertise in the business. Best of all, they are both local residents, who have lived in the area all their lives. Ted went to Lake Braddock High School and George Mason, then actually sold Nautilus equipment before opening Nauti Body more than 11 years ago.

Because Ted worked in the exercise equipment industry, he also knows exactly what equipment is best for the customers. That is why he buys only Nautilus, Stairmasters, Lifecycle, Icarian free weights, leverage equipment with names such as Hammer Strength and Magnum and all the other high quality equipment you need for your workout.

The staff is especially proud of its specialized cardiovascular room. The room is set off by itself, where it is quiet and private, and features a large array of Stairmasters, exercise bicycles and treadmills. There is even a bank of seven television sets with headsets, so you can watch your favorite show while you work out.

Nauti Body also features circuit training to work the entire body a section at a time. In all, Nauti Body offers 11,000 square feet of equipment and training space - all in one location.

In addition, Nauti Body has dry heat saunas, massage therapy, locker and shower facilities and its own brand of clothing.

Prices are very competitive. Remember, there are no long-term contracts and no "hard sell" pressure tactics. Call Nauti Body Fitness Center today at 866-4555, or stop by and take a look. You will be impressed.

Major credit cards are accepted, and, of course, Nauti Body is licensed, bonded and insured.
