HUNTINGTON LEARNING CENTER was founded in 1977 by Dr. Raymond
and Eileen Huntington, Huntington Learning Center is the oldest
provider of supplemental education services to children in the
United States, helping over 10,000 students a year do better
in school. By adhering to one basic principle -- help children
to reach their full potential -- Huntington has grown from one
center to over 125 centers in 30 states. Huntington offers tutoring,
remediation, enrichment and SAT/ACT exam preparation services,
with an emphasis on basic reading, writing, math and study skills.
Most Huntington students are in elementary, junior high and high
school.
Because every child has different needs, Huntington programs
are tailor-made for each individual. When parents enroll their
child at a Huntington Learning Center, nationally-recognized
diagnostic tests are used to determine the student's specific
academic strengths and weaknesses. Based on these test results,
Huntington can recommend a comprehensive program of instruction.
State-certified teachers provide children with individualized
attention, as well as an optimal environment for tackling academic
challenges.
Huntington teachers work to build a student's confidence and
self-esteem, in addition to basic skills. Each program begins
at a level comfortable to the student. Assignments gradually
increase in difficulty as each new skill is mastered. This concept
is referred to as the "Big Steps/Little Steps" approach.
Generally, Huntington's student to teacher ratio is three to
one, and each center can provide one-to-one instruction.

Huntington also offers a strategy-based SAT and ACT prep course
to help college-bound students get their best possible score.
These courses feature small classes, full-length practice tests,
personalized study plans and guaranteed results.
It is Huntington's philosophy that parents play a vital role
in their child's education. To that end, all centers meet with
parents for an initial conference and at regular intervals throughout
the course of their child's program. According to a recent study
conducted by Solomon and Associates, over 95 percent of parents
are satisfied with Huntington and with the results achieved by
their children.
