After serving 17 years as the Production Manager for the Washington Star newspaper, I was hired as the Buyer's Guide Production Manager when the Star ceased publication in the early 80s. Computerization has greatly changed the graphics arts industry since that time, which allowed me to resume my previous theatrical trucking career and still help out in the family newspaper business part time.
Besides working with local arts groups such as the National Symphony Orchestra, the Washington National Opera, and the Washington Ballet, I work with local arts venues such as the Kennedy Center, Wolf Trap, George Mason University Center for the Arts, Ford's Theatre, the National Theatre and the Warner Theatre.
As a contractor for Clark Transfer, I have toured with hundreds of Broadway shows and top entertainers, including extensive stints with Beauty and the Beast and Lion King. I travel from New York City's Carnegie Hall to Boston's Tanglewood to Philadelphia's Kimmel Center to Phoenix's Grady Gammage Auditorium.
Since the Buyer's Guide carries leisure fill, the paper often promote the same shows I am moving.
